Perrywood Garden Centre near Sudbury was granted planning permission for the new build last year, and it is hoped it will become a high-class shopping and leisure destination for those visiting.

Earlier this year, the framework for the new garden centre was installed, and the scale of the project was revealed.

Now, bosses have said that although it may look like the garden centre has finished from the outside, there is a lot still to be done inside, including painting, seating in the restaurant area, kitchen installation, and putting up the entrance sign.

A spokesman for Perrywood said: “Once our contractors complete the ‘fit out’ phase, our team moves in to bring in stock, displays, till counters, and more.

“This is a large job that is being planned in meticulous detail. And before you ask, no, we don’t have an opening date to share. As ever, watch this space.”

Once completed the new garden centre will feature a spacious retail area, which will be designed to offer a wider selection of plants, gardening essentials and home and giftware items.

A new 200-seat coffee shop and restaurant will be open to customers and there will also be more parking spaces created.

It is hoped that the new garden centre could be open to customers by mid-October 2025, but Perrywood has said the timeline could change as the project continues.
