Hi, all. Sharing my compacta for the community. It lives outdoors in Houston, TX. I overwinter it in my garage. Previously, I grew it for ~6 years in Fort Worth, TX. Overall, I’d age it at about 12 years old (I’ve had it for about 11 years). It’s one of my most cherished, and currently, one of my longest lived plants.

What a beast of a plant. It looks more like a krinkle 8 tho.

You didn’t happen to get it from Costa farms did you? I bought one several years ago that was also marked as a compactor that ended up being a swifter’s tail. My leaves were similar to yours where they weren’t compacted they were open and looked more like a crinkle eight

    Its beautiful!! But I don’t think it’s a compacta.

It’s a beautiful specimen of something, but not a compacta. Maybe a hybrid? My compacta is a straggly lil fella just starting out from a cutting, but the leaves are have the very distinct shape looking like day-old shell pasta for lack of a better term. They curl both vertically and horizontally to the vein. Sometimes there is extra wiggle in the spine for good measure.

Good luck getting a proper ID on it here, great time to get some close up pix while it’s looking so spiffy from a summer being spoiled!

Looks like a gorgeous hoya krinkle 8. So full and healthy!!!
