This was the first orchid in my collection. Passed down to me by my late grandfather around Y2K. You can guess the story after that. Obsession kicked in, and here we are.

Fortunately it's one of the hardiest and drought tolerant orchids I own. Its been impossible to kill, and I've given it plenty of opportunities over the years. I mostly grow small and miniatures now, but this one could be considered a compact Dendrobium (6-8in tall). No fragrance, no rest period, and blooms throughout the year.

For care, I water when dry and give it medium light. Repot it every decade or so, haha. Its in medium bark chunks, and almost never gets fertilized. The decaying bark seems to be enough for it.

Also in background of the first image is Holcoglossum wangii, and on the side Encyclia cordigera peeking out.

The 2nd photo shows off how bushy it's become lately. Ive been avoiding re-potting for years!
The 3rd photo is the oldest one I have of it from 2010. I guess I never bothered taking one before this point.

Wow. Had no idea they got that old as house plants. Great job anyway! 🪴☀️🦋

It’s really lovely. I love the ‘mini’ type Dendrobium Phalaenopsis types. The big ones get rather unruly and the smaller ones give as many flowers.
