Came across a whole grove of these in Missouri just last weekend and asked Google the same thing.

Just posted this plant within the last month and everyone agreed it’s a Kousa Dogwood. Crazy looking fruits but apparently edible! *don’t recommended eating as I am not a professional identifier, just looks similar to what I posted
