Good morning arborists – I have two of these pine trees in my backyard that I planted about three years ago. One of them looks totally fine, no browning whatsoever. I recently noticed this one in particular showing signs of browning near the center portion of the south facing side. Is it getting too much sun/not enough water? Is something wrong with my soil?

No. Evergreens hold 3 years growth, they still experience fall needle drop of the oldest needles. Needlecast fungus can cause trouble and the tree will only hold a year or two of growth, but that’s not what I see here. Keep watering and enjoy the tree .
Spruces, pines have longer needles in bundles
