Woke up this morning to holes like this all over my lawn. I've never seen this before! Could it be skunks or armadillos? I'm on the east side.

EDIT TO ADD: Consensus is an armadillo! If he's after grubs, do I need to worry about a grub problem? I just have a small area of turf lawn for my kiddos, and I'd rather not have to put any sort of insecticide on it.

This has happened to my lawn a couple times. I think my neighbor said it was armadillos looking for grubs.

Judging by the size of it in comparison to your hand, it could also easily be a squirrel.

That soil looks nice and soft for digging and burying pecans.

Also, which part of the east side makes a difference. If you’re more central, some critters are more likely, and if you’re further out, others are more likely.
