Ok I know it doesn't look like much. I've had this leaf cutting for over a year and I've even waiting patiently for it to grow a crown. This is the only prop that has lived this long. Admittedly I either get impatient and scrap the project or I forget about it and they die BUT this time I was determined!!! I can't tell you how many times I've tried this over the years. My grandmother loved african violets it was her favorite houseplant and she had dozens. I never met my grandmother but my mom says they where always in full bloom and incredibly impressive. My mom has always had a black thumb and my dad isn't the great at taking care of anything that isn't a cactus đ . I get her african violets for mothers day and they die tragically every year so in an effort to save money (and for funzies) I started trying to prop them. IT FINALLY WORKED!!! I'm so proud of myself đ. It looks like 2 different crowns are forming but I'm not going to mess with it until everything gets bigger. I had all but given up on this and forgotten to water it for a bit and noticed this. I'm going to pester everyone about this later but I wanted to share with the group bc ik you guys will definitely get this lmao.

Congrats. One question, do you bag the pot with the leaf in it? Keeping the humidity up by putting the pot with leaf in a zip lock bag that you’ve inflated and then sealed shut helps cut the time down and increases your chance of success. Best Of Luck.
CONGRATS!!!
I just started my first attempt at AV prop after a lot of years propagating pothos and Christmas cactus and Philodendren which all root out super fast. The PATIENCE required on AV is crazy. I’m thrilled because 4 weeks in I can see the leaves standing up a little so maybe in more endless weeks I’ll have a leaf? đ€đż
