At one of my theme park work locations, the trees had these boxes around to power their holiday lighting. The tree basically grew around them, so we had to cut back enough of the tree to remove the boxes and move them away from the tree a foot or two. It took awhile because we could only do it during closing hours. It was a fun project. (Electrician)

Yeah it’s for your giant inflatable Santa and reindeer. Wrong outlet thought. Surprised if it works and if it does it probably trips a breaker when it rains.
