I recently discovered a way to get those weeds from the base of San Pedro (& other cacti) without getting jabbed by the hectic, thick, sharp spines. It works very well
This device is a syringe grabber to make the task safer.

I like extra long tweezer tongs they have good pressure to grab. I see a mite crawling there too I would spray down the whole cactus with spinosad spray like the dead bug brew bottle
My favorite part is the demonstration where you almost get it with your fingers but then remember no way! I’m gonna use this tool.
