The yellow evening, primrose.. #edible #yellowrose #fyi #flowers

Hey, just Rick here. Now, check this out. This is the evening primrose. It’s the host plant for the primrose moth. And do you know that you can eat this plant? You can eat the flowers, the buds. You can eat the stems, the leaves, and the roots. Now, the roots you’d want to harvest in the early spring, peel them, and cook them as if they were a parsnip. The flowers, you can just put them into a salad because they look nice. use them as a garnish. Now, the special thing about this plant is the seeds. You see, in late fall, you can harvest the seeds from these plants to get omega6 fatty acid, omega 9 fatty acid. Now, I’m going to try a flower right now. And believe it or not, um there’s very little flavor to this, but when it first touched my tongue and my lips, it was like I was blowing up a balloon for a party. That’s the texture of the flower itself. I’m going to try another one. Yeah, there’s not much flavor at all, but you know, if you see these grown on your property and you know they have no chemicals on them, you should just add them to your salad, use them as a garnish. And don’t forget, if you’re liking my content, please like, share, and subscribe.
