  1. Oh wow, it’s a shame they smell so bad because they look amazing!

Mine recently flowered and I only discovered it three days later after I couldn’t get rid of that funky smell in the house… out on the balcony she went

They honestly scare me. Too much Stranger Things probably. 😂

That is the most alien looking plant I’ve ever seen. It’s so cool!!

Your caption gave me a good laugh like for real. I also sympathize w/ the dilemma.

At least you have pictures of it. So cool looking! Totally understand why you’d have to get rid of it though. Do you think it will stop smelling when it is desiccated?

Looks like Orbea Variegata- a stapeliad but not of the Stapelia genus

Ok but what do you have against cats and their breath

Do you have any idea which species that is? The flower resembles Stapelia variegata (which I believe is now Orbea variegata), which I have had since 1969. Mine blooms and the flower has an unpleasant odor but it is not pervasive, so doesn’t stink up the house (unlike the actual cats). Congratulations on getting it to bloom.

That flower is wild, it looks like something out of a sci-fi movie. Hard to believe a plant can grow blooms that patterned, Id be staring at it all day if it were in my house.
