I had a few people ask how I built this 36x18x36 tank. I started with the normal expanding foam, silicone and dirt process for the background.
To make the logs I took small 2 inch rounds from NEHERP and pieced them together with foam and skewers to make unique shapes. I would use large bamboo rods to support the logs into the already foamed and siliconed background and then foamed the logs into place. To cover the spots where I placed cork rounds together I used sheet moss.
The bromeliads are anchored into the cork by drilling small holes and zip tying them into place.
The whole process took a few weeks but I did it slower than I usually would. If you spent an hour a day working on it the whole process would take about a week.
I hope this clears up any questions!
