It’s a beach rose. Those bulbous things are the rose hips. Only edible if you get rid of the hairy stuff inside. Otherwise your insides will feel like you ate insulation.
High in vitamin c – i munch on them when I pass them heading to the beach.

Not poisonous, but invasive especially on shorelines (no pun intended). It’s only native to northeastern Asia. I’ve lost the link to the study (I think it was this one https://besjournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/j.1365-2745.2005.01002.x), but the hips can float for under a year, which makes it possible for them to disperse for a considerable distance, and makes them a threat to coastal ecosystems. Of course, it can also disperse its seeds via birds and other animals.

The bain of my existence. I have one of these bastards in my front yard that I chop back regularly. It grows like crazy, spreads everywhere, and blooms for a week tops. I hate it.
