(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) The fifth annual Flower Farm Day blossomed this weekend at Homeplace Fields, where community members enjoyed scenic views and picked fresh bouquets directly from the flower fields.

The event, created through a partnership between the Windmeyer family and Nesting Goods, offers visitors the opportunity to see exactly where their flowers originate.

Lynn Windmeyer, co-owner of Homeplace Fields, shared the special connection visitors form with the farm.

“We’ve had people make it a tradition for their families every year,” Windmeyer said. “One of the fun comments that we get a lot is that they feel like they’re in a Hallmark movie. We enjoy creating that idyllic environment for them, especially in such a time as this, it’s really nice to get away and be in a peaceful place.”

Though maintaining the flower fields requires constant work and upkeep similar to any farming operation, the Windmeyer family finds fulfillment in their work and the joy it brings to visitors.

The family emphasizes that tending the fields has become a rewarding way of life rather than merely a occupation.

Flower Farm Day will return next year for its sixth annual celebration.
