I made this weird little pot with tentacles and stuck some pothos stems and leaves in it with water. I love it and it’s been going strong for months. I dump out the water and refill with fresh water every week or 2 but that’s it. How long can it survive like this? Is there something I can add to feed it without it getting too gross inside? I can’t clean the inside of the pot or even get the plant out. The holes are too small.

If the roots are healthy, then it’ll last until it needs a bigger pot. You’re probably going to need to break that pot. I have no suggestion on how to clean the inside. It shouldn’t get too bad inside as the sunlight will not be hitting the water and causing algae. I would you a hydroponic fertiliser with every water change. Looks cute 😍

You can dilute some hydrogen peroxide into your water to keep it from getting too funky

Change the water out here and there, and that plant is set for life

It will be fine for a while. Can’t give you an exact number because it’s going to depend on how fast your plant grows, which will depend on the conditions in your environment.

But eventually the roots will outgrow the container, and you will most likely need to break the container to get the plant out. So if that is something you would rather not do, then I recommend repotting it sooner rather than later.

If you’re really worried, maybe get a baby bottle brush. It should fit in to clean it, or you can trim the bristles a bit. But it looks very happy!

  7. Will last for a long long time the roots will have developed to grow in water as long as your changing the water every so often it will last forever however you may have to break the pot to get it out 😔
