Shoutout to gray turtle (YouTube) and her plethora of hard earned knowledge, and a gorgeous AV collection that made me yearn to have something just as lovely.
Thank you to, ‘All About African Violets’ podcast for teaching me about all the tinnngs! For sharing the av community with those of us who may not readily have one. While always offering the gentle reminder each episode that it is ok to throw away sick plants, it is perfectly fine not to prop every leaf…to enjoy our plants without feeling overwhelmed by them, because hobbies should bring challenges, but mostly joy.
And last but absotivolutely not least- plantastix (YouTube), for the adorable way you say ‘violets’ (bc my Florida accent is far too harsh to be gracious), your openness and vulnerability about dealing with INSV/pests/and all the not so fun things that we may encounter as hobbiest. I deeply felt some of those videos in my lil plant human soul. All of us who have been in the plant game long enough knows that awful feeling of losing a favorite plant… Or many plants from a much loved, and carefully curated collection. Sharing these struggles, victories, and experiments helps us all become better, and more confident growers.
My plants are beautiful, healthy, and happy bc of each one of you, and the lovely people of this AV Reddit community. Thank you. I’m officially an African violet addict. My smol corner of the world is a bit more beautiful, bc you each took the time to contribute to this community 🥰🤙🌸🍃
