Discover how to bring spring inside with the expertise of the Lake County Master Gardeners.

They’ll explain the technique of “forcing” bulbs — which means making them flower at atypical times — during a free program at 10 a.m. Oct. 4, at Mentor Public Library’s Main Branch, 8215 Mentor Ave.

All are welcome to attend, but due to limited space, registration is required. Sign up at www.mentorpl.org or call the library at 440-255-8811 ext. 1. Registration opens Sept. 20.

For those interested in gardening, Mentor Public Library also has a Seed Library. Patrons can check out free vegetable, flower, fruit and herb seeds from the library’s Main, Lake, and Headlands Branches. The seeds are free, and patrons can borrow up to 15 packets per season.
