What is this? I’m near vail Colorado. I found it in the yard under a tree. It’s growing in a floret pattern from a single base. I looked it up a bunch of times in apps and online and I keep getting field sorrel or yong shepherds purse. I tasted it and it’s not sour at all so now I’m confused.

Do you have any flowering specimens of the same plant? I also suspect Rumex acetosella, which is invasive and has been recorded near “Vail”, but you said it isn’t sour at all so I’m thinking it could be something in the Chenopodiaceae, perhaps a young Blitum nuttallianum (native)? Was it astringent at all when you tasted it? My other guess is Atriplex sp. but nothing has been recorded in the vicinity that has that leaf shape. It looks like *Blitum nuttallianum* to me but I strongly recommend not tasting something when you’re not absolutely sure of what it is, regardless of what apps tell you.
