Figured you guys might be the only people to appreciate that my dill and carrots are being sacrificed, most of my family just looks at me like I’m crazy to give the bugs all that food πŸ˜‚

Is Golden Alexander native in your area? It’s also a host plant for them and has more leaf mass to feed hungry caterpillars!

I get that. I have on the list to grow some dill as well, but I’d like to get a good area of golden Alexanders to have the native host plant.

At one point in August I counted 65 swallowtail cats on my big ole 2nd year bronze fennel, that I’d decided to put it in bc it’s perennial & I want to eat my dill πŸ˜… (hopefully my patch of golden alexander will come in strong for an assist next year!). Love those stipey chonkers, got to see so many chrysalis & so many emerge this year, too!

Thats awesome. I had them in my Golden Alexander this year. I collected seeds and am hoping to have more next year.
