I’ve been trying to get this guy to grow roots for a while since it was popped off my friend’s tephrocactus geometricus. I’ve been scared of root rot so I’ve just had it sitting on top of soil, but I haven’t seen anything for a month or two. I know they’re so growers but I thought I’d see something at this point?

I can’t say much for this specific plant, but NEVER have i been failed by sphagnum moss.
Moist sphagnum moss in a deli box with the plant popped on top makes my propagations root really well and quicker than other mediums I’ve used.
The only annoying part would be removing the root system from the moss once they have developed, but that’s nothing compared to the results you get.
I thought this was a bald cypress seed cone at first 😅
