MIgardener: I’ve NEVER Packed More Potato Growing Tips Into a Single Video!
Growing potatoes can be fun and rewarding! In today’s episode I am harvesting our potatoes and while I harvest them, I’m cramming more potato growing tips into a single video than ever before!
"absolutely incredible" – do you really think this phrase has any meaning? 1:05 what can you say that is objectively quantifiable about the topic? That is how you should describe your thoughts, not with cliched buzzwords. Ok? Pass this standard on.
The cold killed half my plants and pumpkins. R.i.p. Should I pick the pumpkins and gourds now or wait and see if they will come back? We live in Michigan near Lansing.
Good call on chitting early. I’ve had better scab resistance keeping soil pH just under 6.0 and mulching heavy with shredded leaves after hilling. What’s your go-to for wireworm pressure in raised beds?
Do you carry inventory for zone 9 for seeds and seed potatoes and garlic? We are currently planting potatoes in our fall gardens down here in Texas and looking for reputable seed potatoes
I planted potatoes this year for the first time. I am in zone 8a Tuscola, TX. They were in a raised bed. I got a few potatoes early in the season and then harvested the remainder in early August. All of them seemed fine with i pulled them out of the ground, but then when I was letting them dry they started to quickly get soft and I was not able to enjoy any of them (so so sad). What did I do wrong?
Nice harvest! Someday I will have to try potatoes. Right now I have no place they can grow! My soil is clay and I don't have enough raised beds. Luke, your tips were wonderful. Thanks. I just started planting the seeds I bought from you recently!
Hey Luke, do you think you could possibly get your hands on some "Blackberry" potatoes to put in the web store at some point in the future? I got some from Fedco to grow this year and they are a really fun variety, but if you could get some of those in your store i would much rather support you instead for my Blackberry potato needs! I also ordered some of your kennebec potatoes earlier this year and both seemed to do pretty darn well in 25 Gallon grow bags. 😊
I have planted potatoes in the same bed for the past 4-5 years. This year the potatoes have scab. I can add ammonium sulfate to help lower ph. Would Pete moss help lower ph and break up the dirt. I live in MI on an old sheep farm. No sand or clay to speak of on our property.
