Can you see the plant that was entirely gobbled up by possums overnight?

If you can’t, it’s because I have enough diversity to cover it up. The possums have particular taste, and even though I’ve heard people say they don’t like Hibbertia, now I know that they absolutely love it so it’s not a plant I’ll be using here again.

If I’d made Hibbertia an important part of the aesthetic, losing them would have made a big impact. But I have enough backup here to make the problem disappear.

PS how many species can you identify?

I’ve heard that possums can have essentially territory specific diet (and even language) which is partly why if they are relocated too far away, not only do they not know the food, they don’t know the ‘language’ of resident possums.

I’ve got a large *Hibbertia* growing well at the base of a defoliated lemon-scented gum.

I guess possums must have personal preferences.

Seems the gnome just stood there and did nothing! the smirk on his face and averting his gaze says maybe he was in on it!
