Since there was a post about exterior lighting, I wanted to share my cop neighbor who leaves all these lights on every night. The house backs up to a creek on 3 sides, so before any home invaders can take the castle, they’d have to wade thru 30 ft of croc infested waters.

We tried talking to him directly, which he replied, “we’re not your neighbors, we’re not friendly, and you’re trespassing,” and we tried contacting local support, but since the distance is over 100yd between our properties, the properties of light dispersion no longer apply.

You want a porch light, great! Motion sensors, fine, I guess. But this level of maximum security prison theater is out of control. Please send help!

Jesus that’s a bunch of bullshit. Light like that can do crazy harm to avian and insect populations as well. Probably even rodents and other small animals too. I just put in a motion sensing flood light and I’m already debating changing it after only a week because it’s unnecessarily bright. It hardly ever even turns on but I sure as shit don’t want to be the annoying asshole neighbor.

  2. They live across from you and they said they’re not your neighbour? There isn’t going to be any easy route by the sounds of it.

I have an FBI agent neighbor who has a house with the most ridiculous fencing and security. There is a no trespassing sign on every tree. I wonder why these people are so paranoid?Sorry about your lunatic neighbor. I would hate that. I no longer mow so I can’t even see mine.

Time for some well placed mirrors. And greater involvement in local politics.

R/neighborsfromhell has great advice for people like this.

Best option is to put up some tall shrubs.

Sounds extremely on-brand for a cop

  7. Cops are all paranoid babies, it’s why they kill people all the time.
