I like it. It looks very nice! Good job, but everyone else is about to shit all over you. Buckle up.

Looks nice but living next to people with lots of outdoor lighting, set the auto turnoff at a reasonable hour. It doesnt need to be on at 3:00 am casting shadows.

I think it’s looking good. I often take a ride at night to see how people light their beds at night. I think you should try lighting up each bush and tree, I always think that looks good. Try it with the lights on the house off, and each bush and tree lit, then maybe add some to the house back. Then compare it to these pics.
It definitely looks better lit, than the dark pics before.

Love it. Looks good

Looks great! I agree though that it’s better to have them auto-turn off at reasonable hour if possible. We have a neighbour who has theirs shining up at their house all night, and security lights on, and it completely illuminates our decking and house which is annoying af. They wont turn them off though.
Are yours solar? Looking to install some ourselves so looking at options.

You did a great job with it but I personally never understood the purpose of pointing lights up at the house at night, unless you’re in a high crime area or something like that maybe or the middle of nowhere and it doesn’t matter.
Side note of a downside to this, you’ll basically never see stars from your windows or anywhere within like 30 feet of the house with those on because of the light pollution

i don’t like it. i like darkness at night time. lights on houses should be using motion sensors if you insist on lights imo.

Is it a Reddit glitch or why are all the “Before and After” photos in the wrong order? You don’t put the “After” photos before the “before” photos.
OP don’t take it personally, I have seen this a lot; especially in this group.

Honestly, it kinda makes your house look like a Halloween decoration.
Like your going for the “spooky haunted” look.

Because fuck nocturnal nature.

Dumb light pollution showing off ugly big McMansion. That’s all I see. What is the point of this? I’ll never understand.

Nice, is the Lincoln monument inside?

I prefer landscape lighting to illuminate beautiful trees, not houses. I would rather see a soft wash of light rather than multiple hot spots. Do the lights shine in your windows?
Annoyed with my neighbors who can’t just turn their lights off at night.

Yes more light pollution. Needless and obnoxious

There is a light on over at the Frankenstein place. Nice lighting Halloween will be fun this year.

Landscape lighting contractor here. It’s a good start. The biggest thing that stuck out immediately is the void where the taller tree is in the middle of the picture. It’s more noticeable from the side. If you close that gap darkness, it’ll look way more complete and well rounded.
I agree with the folks suggesting not to let it run all night. My automation standard is:
Morning ON: 2 hrs before sunrise
Morning OFF: 2 hrs after sunrise
Evening ON: 2 hrs before sunrise
Evening OFF: 10-11PM
I also offer app control to manipulate the transformer if they want to toggle it on or off manually. I offer a cheaper $20 power toggle, or a luxury integration toggle such as Control4 to integrate into their smart home system.
I stock a few different lights that would take your project to the finish line, as well as lamps. Shoot me a message if you’d like to discuss further!

[https://darksky.org/resources/guides-and-how-tos/lighting-principles/](https://darksky.org/resources/guides-and-how-tos/lighting-principles/) might be worth considering some of the elements here along side a bunch of other feedback interms of run time etc.
