Hello my lovely viewers and welcome back to this weeks free garden makeover!
And if you’re new to the channel, welcome! I’m so glad you found your way here.
In todays video we meet Gail, who was extremely grateful for me knocking on her door and giving her garden a makeover. She had wrote a very kind letter to me saying how grateful she was and how it had motivated her to start doing more gardening.
I gave myself a challenge at this property though. To try and hand weed her entire yard. This took me a whole day of hand weeding which I think could be a record haha.
Stay tuned until the very end to catch the before and after pictures, you’ll love how this one turned out.

She caught me as I was leaving I was just driving past and saw that your front yard
was a little bit overgrown Yea I don’t poison it That’s good
No I don’t do poisoning either Was just driving past and knocking because one day a week I do a completely free gardening service Just hand weeding everything and pruning things back I just saw that there was a lot of grass and weeds throughout
your front yard Wow I would love a free service Yea that’s cool no worries I just film it in the front yard and make a little video out of it It looks like all this needs a bit of a prune Seen all up and down your drive way
The roses In here it’s just a bit crazy Yea that would be fantastic Yea no worries That would be amazing That’s fine Thank you so much I’m Aidan Oh hi Aidan I’m Gail Gail nice to meet you Gail Hello my lovely viewers and welcome back to
another garden transformation video and if you’re new to the channel welcome I’m so glad that you found your way here
You’re going to have a great time So I just wanted to quickly mention that I’ve been sick the past few days and have a bit of a blocked nose
so that’s why it probably sounds a bit weird and another thing that I quickly wanted to mention was
the power brush It’s going to be here in two days So next weeks video we’re going to have that one Again everyone that’s donated to that Go fund me for that Thank you so much I still can’t believe how quickly you
guys smashed that goal But lets get to todays video So with this property that I was driving past This place actually had a lot of potential There were a lot of beautiful bushes in the front yard The bees were absolutely loving this place But I had noticed that the yard was just completely covered in again
Oxalis weeds This stuff grows like crazy in winter time here in Australia It just goes berserk and it all comes up at once But then upon further inspection with this place So in the middle of the yard was this beautiful big tree but it just had alot of suckers growing out of it They all needed to be pruned off and then if you looked at the driveway along the side of the driveway again was just completely covered
in weeds, overgrown grass and it had all of these rose bushes along the side One of these rose bushes in particular was massive It was so overgrown wait until you see this thing There were a lot of beautiful bushes here
a lot of nice plants There were Lavender plants, Rosemary plants This was a bees heaven There were so many bees everywhere while I was working this property
and I love bees I think a lot of people don’t realise how beneficial bees are and then there were a few pathways in this property They were slowly getting overtaken by grass and oxalis We’ve had to just clear everything back
Get everything back to brand new So I decided I’m going to give myself a bit of a challenge here and I’m going to try and hand weed the whole garden
Every single thing Every square inch of the garden
I’m going to hand weed it all But this took hours and hours to hand weed You couldn’t just whipper snipper over this stuff because
it would just grow back pretty much straight away I wanted to hand weed all of this oxalis and Kikuyu grass out of there It prevents it from coming back a lot more than if you
were to just Whipper snipper this stuff So I did spend the time
It did take quite a lot of time But I have hand weeded everything and it is all completely gone and if you enjoy the work that I do The best way that you can support me and this channel
is to just like this video and to hit the Subscribe button It’s completely free to subscribe and it just allows me to do more free
garden makeovers like this one today Just want to give my community and my viewers a
massive thankyou again You guys are the best I could not do this without out all But without further adue Grab a coffee grab a tea
Sit back relax and enjoy this yard transformation Have a look who I’ve just found
Who’s just been watching me Take a look at this guy Not afraid of me at all He’s beaten the Willy Wagtail to the scene that’s for sure Hello Doesn’t care about me The Willy Wagtail is just behind the camera wanting to get a piece of this action So if you’re new to the channel The reason that I haven’t just gone and whipper snippered
all of the weeds Find me more worms! Is because if it’s easier to hand weed
I’m going to hand weed it Two reasons One if you just whipper snipper it
it doesn’t actually get rid of the roots and it grows back a lot faster Sometimes I also find insects and wild life amongst this stuff So if I just go and whipper snipper it
You end up killing a lot of things There’s three different bird types here We’ve got a Pee Wee at the front
and you got a willy wagtail at the back Oh! and we’ve got another one up here Hahaha
Pee Wee oh gees So I’m going to try and leave the angle so that you can actually see what’s going on behind me
with these birds as well because they’re pretty funny Alright time to prune back these Roses So half of this rose is pretty much dead same with this one so we’re going to be chopping
a fair bit off Okay so I don’t think I’m going to be as patient with this one This one is just too humongous I don’t think these are going to work very well on this
it’s going to take forever Much better So unfortunately one of the down sides about wearing shorts
while gardening is having to stomp of this which is completely full of roses Umm so wish me luck So I’m pretty sure my legs have just become numb and immune to this stuff It doesn’t even hurt anymore I don’t know if that’s a good thing or not So this stuff that’s in between what I’m weeding
are called Big Leaf Periwrinkles Gail wants these here so I’m not going to touch these Because they do look quite nice next to the Agapanthus So I’m just going to get rid of this Oxalis and Grass from everywhere and here comes the rain Lets hope it doesn’t get too rainy because I’m happy
to work in the rain but when it’s torrential I cannot do that Alright so it is all done and all hand weeded the rain’s kind of holding off so lets see how we go When it’s hot it’s not too bad
when it’s cold it can be bad But the wind ruins everything I cannot stand the wind It is my biggest hate Finally time for a new bag Alright so I’m getting everything that is head height and that would hit you in the head So we’re just going to clear everything back so that
you don’t get hit in the head because that always happens to me So things like this we’ve got to get rid of I’ll try and keep as much as I can though So I’m not going to be trimming many of these bushes back too far The bees absolutely love these things and this guy isn’t that overgrown and neither is the other one I’m just going to give everything a little bit of a trim back I’m probably not going to touch the things that the bees are loving
because there’s flowers and bees are very important to our eco system so I don’t want to be disturbing them So the last thing that I want to do for Gail Is to get rid of this stuff
this black tubing If you don’t know what this is
This is an irrigation system The black irrigation that you may have seen goes under the soil and if you see brown irrigation that actually stays on top of the soil and has drippers that come out of it This isn’t working though
Gail said that hasn’t been working for a while So we’re just going to get rid of this for her then we are done

Thanks and have a good one yourself as well
That was a weeding job for sure!! Looks fantastic
Watching you in motion is truly fascinating ❤🎉Please don't burn yourself out for the sake of a few $. You are worth so much more than that. 🎉 You first money after xxxxxx Even the wildlife love you 😅 You truly are a Guru. A total absolute gorgeous transformation
Mind blowing For HER and All Of Us All🎉
Call the bird JOY🕊️
That job was over-the-top, Aiden! Truly, a truckload of mulch is the "icing-on-the-cake" of any project. PS: Put "Willie" on the payroll! He's the reason your company is "insecticide free!"
Wow! Looking so good! ❤❤❤
I followed you I like your videos ❤❤❤
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Bet your fingers were throbbing that night before bedtime! I know what it takes to get a job like that done by hand. Great job!
This is the first time of all gardens I have checked and watched, is this the number one. The very best. Well done. 🫶🫶🫶 The lady must have adopted you for her beautiful garden. That bird was the angel of this video, to say thank you.
Judging by the air traffic in most of your videos, you must work in the same area, more or less. No wonder the magpies are getting familiar with you!
Looks great! Being from Pennsylvania in USA, I love to learn about the different plants and wildlife in Australia. That little bird is adorable. What kind is it?
I love doing and watching this type of weeding. Great job❤❤
You've inspired me to pull up my weeds like this . A comment for the algorithm too …
If you had a small tarp and laid it out to put the weeds on then drag to your trailer it would save you time.
Such a great transformation love it.
Wow, what a load of weeding that was for you Aidan!! The garden now looks fantastic ❤❤
Just out if curiosity and to learn. Why do you cut all the bushes so short
What is wrong with Oxalis, Aiden? I live in the Netherlands and we can buy this plant in the store as a nice ground cover. It looks lovely and fresh, crisp. Lovely leaves aswell. Is it invasive? Nice work btw and you have a good eye for nature and all their creatures. Thank you
