This variegated creeping fig looked beautiful a few days ago but has gone hill very fast. I had another in a similar area that yellowed and dropped all its leaves too.

I have this in one of my reptiles tanks so it’s exposed to 60-80% humidity. I wasn’t watering it and it was thriving. I noticed it start yellowing like the other one and thought it might’ve needed watering.

No matter whether I water it more or water it less this seems to eventually happen and they die. Is it the humidity killing them off? This has been in the same area for months without issue. I have another one now that seems to be doing very well, but I’m concerned it’ll just eventually die off too.

They get 6 hours of LED light and are in the soil they came with.

When you say “watering”, are you actually soaking the roots with water, or just misting the outside of the plant?

I don’t know much about these plants but it seems like they need constant moisture. Some people recommend wrapping the roots in sphagnum moss to keep them damp enough.
