Fall is starting for me so I started giving my calculus some water to help it wake up. It’s gotten no water over summer. Oddly, this one never produced any sheath. Been watering it for a couple weeks now, letting the soil dry for a couple days in between each watering. But this calculus just won’t drink. It’s super squish, not mushy. There doesn’t feel like there’s a new set of leaf. I’m currently doing water therapy in the hopes of it waking up. I’m not sure, but I the “stem” brown and shrivelled mean it’s dead?

  1. Not experienced with Conos but bottom part with brown might be a death sign.

It doesn’t sound good. I would probably leave it there and see if it develops roots but between that brown part and no new sheathe developing I think this is probably a zombie plant.

If it’s any help, calculus are not the easiest conos to keep alive out there!
