Got a mystery snail to deal with algae growth. Was moving around for a few days and then hes been in his shell not moving for 3 days. Not sure if dead or hibernating.
Terrariums aren’t the best place for living organisms bigger than 1mm. You can go to your local pond and find a real small snail to put in there. It won’t get much bigger in a terrarium

Don’t have any experience with mysteries, but bladder or ramshorn snails do really well in jars if homeboy doesn’t make it.

Mystery snails will not fare well in a setup like this. They need to be fed. They don’t clean algae, they actually result to live plants too. 10 gallon minimum for a mystery snail and regular feeding.
if you want a clean up crew, stick with the best: bladder snails. They actually practice population control in a set up like this if not fed additional food.

Thanks everybody this guy will return to the ecosystem and be replaced by a bladder snail.
