Hey Everyone.

I recently cleared all the conifers outside my house. Im just after some advice on what to plant. I would love low height natives that attract birds and bees for the kids.

The planting area would be the strip of soil on the photos.

I live on the mid north coast.

Thanks ahead.

Bit of coastal rosemary goes alright.

Callistemon / Acacia / Grevillea / Correa Alba are always great and come in all sizes with lots of flowers. If you want local natives you might be able to find something – eg [20150309-SpeciesSelectionReport-web.pdf](https://www.bellingerlandcare.org.au/wp-content/uploads/20150309-SpeciesSelectionReport-web.pdf) has tables of endemic trees and shrubs for Coffs region, [Nambucca-Valley-Vegitation-and-Planting-Guide.pdf](https://northcoastlandcare.org.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/Nambucca-Valley-Vegitation-and-Planting-Guide.pdf) for nambucca etc.

Assuming the photo was taken in the afternoon this wall is south facing? Most natives do like a bit of sun.

    What is the sun like?

It is always great to source ‘regional (local) natives’ where possible.

I’d be looking for ‘bush tucker’ adding plants like ‘Midyum’ *Austromyrtus dulcis,* Blue Tounge *Melastoma affine (can grow to 3M but keep it pruned),* Finger Limes *Citrus australasica*, *Rubus Probus* **–** Atherton (aka native) Raspberry etc. They will provide flowers for the birds and bees but also some very tasty snacks.

If you a postcode or closest city I can search for some local bush tucker varieties if you’re interested and you can review them.
