BLOOMING good gardeners showed off their fantastic flowers as the Kilmacolm Horticultural Society’s annual show returned for another successful year.
Once again there was a fantastic turn out of local residents coming along to the Cargill Centre to enjoy the flower show organised by the group.
The committee, led by chairman Doctor Ian Morrice, were delighted with the quality of entries over the show’s 107 classes which saw people of all ages taking part.

To mark the summer show of 2025 Councillor David Wilson was welcomed as the guest of honour.
Councillor Wilson’s wife Lorraine was a regular contributor to the show in the home baking category before she sadly passed away last year.

Throughout the day there were visitors including Professor Sir John Curtice, a political analyst who features regularly in televised election coverage, who seemed impressed with the results on show.

On the day the judges awarded the ‘best in show’ to Stuart MacDougall of Greenock for his wonderful dahlias.
Another worthy winner was youngster Anna McFadzean who took first prize for her potatoes.

Society secretary Jill Russell said: “We would like to thank everyone for their contribution. It was a lovely day with some great exhibits.
“We were honoured to have Councillor David Wilson as our guest of honour. He has always been a great supporter of the show and of Inverclyde.
“The public as always came along to support us.”
Mrs Russell, who has been involved for 38 years, thanked the show convenors and Dr Ian Morrice for his work.
