Am I going to have to cut those branches on either side all the way back? I was really hoping I could get him to grow a bit more upright. He’s crowding out my room and blocks out an entire window now. I wish I could have a hands on in home snip-snip consultation 😭
Maybe this why it was cut back so dramatically when I got him. It makes me sad to have to do that again but obviously I’m not being smart about my cuts as far as predicting where the new growth will go.
The left branch is EXTREMELY heavy, it’s straining to hold itself up and honestly could snap under this weight eventually. I should have cut that more back more for sure.
Any advice?
Add Info: south facing window, dilute fertilizer and daily misting. Current photo, photo of how I got him and photo of heavy branch

Hes do beautiful and healthy looking, he hold his weight well
if i were you, i’d cut way further down. like way further than you’re probably comfortable with. that way its not just trunk—————————-leaves
wherever you cut it, thats where the leaves will start growing, so judge it by that
i just chopped mine down and i wish i had done it so much sooner
