I review a new hot pepper I’m growing and do a taste test.

Asante pepper. This is a new pepper variety I’m growing this year. This is a hot pepper and it originates from Ghana. If you didn’t know, Ghana is in Africa and it is growing quite well. As you can see, it’s doing very nice. Looks great. Here’s what the peppers look like up close. And this is red, so I have to harvest it. I bought these seeds from Baker’s Creek, but I don’t know. It’s spicy, but I’m not sure how spicy. It doesn’t say. So, I guess I’ll take a little bite for you and uh tell you how spicy it is. I’ll pick this one right here. Here it goes. I’m tasting it. That’s spicy. Very spicy. The proof I took a bite. There it is. That’s too spicy for me to eat like this. This probably be good in hot sauce or something like that. So, yeah, it’s definitely hotter than a jalapeno. It’s probably less spicy than an aanero, I think. Now, I don’t eat a lot of peppers just straight like that. I really don’t. I mean, not hot peppers at least. I don’t like to eat a jalapeno like that. It’s too hot for me. But I do like them in hot sauces and stuff like that. That’s why I grow hot peppers. Me, it has a little flavor kind of like a ghost pepper. Sort of like that, like a floral type notes. But it’s a pretty productive plant. You can see this full of peppers. And I’d say it’s worth growing. If you like gardening and plant content, do me a favor and click that subscribe button. Thanks for watching everyone.
