Hey everyone, and welcome back to another garden transformation!

So I was driving past this place and noticed a mulch strip out the front that was scattered with weeds and then had seen a branch that was sticking out into the walkway which looked like you would hit your head on it. Then looking into the yard I could tell that a lot of things here needed a bit of a refresh.

I decided to stop my ute and knock on the front door to see if the homeowner needed some help with their garden. I was greeted by Tony, who was telling me that he had been having a bit of trouble trying to find a gardener through the government care package that he was on. He also told me that he had been in Australia since 1963 and was in the Royal Air force for quite some time. I was extremely happy to help out this retired Veteran with his yard and he sounded delighted at my offer.

Came over in 63-64 I was with the Royal air force Oh wow Hey everyone, good morning, good afternoon, good evening wherever you’re from in the world welcome back to the channel and if you’re new to the channel
I am so glad that you found your way here You’re going to have a great time trust me In this weeks garden video I was driving past this property and I noticed A really large mulch nature strip out the front of the house That had weeds scattered all the way throughout it There were a few Geraniums that had been planted but these weeds were just taking over it and then upon further inspection I could see this
large tree branch that was just encroaching onto the walkway You would hit your head on it if you walked past So the lawns weren’t actually too bad There was just a lot of edging that needed to be
uncovered again But there was a lot of things here that needed to be done So there was a whole bunch of these Agapanthus that looked like they hadn’t been pruned or looked
after in years There was grass growing all throughout them and behind them was just a humongous Rose bush These roses were actually coming from the neighbors house and they were growing so far over this property
that that was also becoming a bit of a safety hazard You could not even weed or do anything with the Agapanthus without getting your head hit or prickled
by some of these roses There were also a lot of weeds and grass that were just
overgrowing all the garden beds So over the other side of the yard was another small garden that had oxalis weeds growing all throughout the lawn and all of the garden beds in this part of the property were also completely overtaken by weeds Looks like no one had cleared out the leaves for ages And then we had these beautiful raised garden beds
which were out the front of the property So these garden beds just needed a big clean up and the roses needed to be pruned back So we have gone and we have completely done everything
at this place that we could I’m sure you guys are going to enjoy this video Make sure you stick around to the end to see

me to do more garden makeovers like this one today Thankyou so much for your support Thanks for leaving comments Thanks for liking the video So sit back relax, get a coffee, get a water, get a wine whatever’s your preference and enjoy this makeover So this is already full from pretty much just that area that I was hand weeding There’s so much So I was just talking to Tony he actually wants this removed which is going to make my life a lot easier These roses are out of control you wait till you see these things I can’t wait until I have to start pruning these roses these are so annoying Finally time to trim these things back because this thing is just ridiculous These are multiple rose bushes that are just completely out of control so we need to cut them back I don’t even know where to begin Alright time to bring out the big tools This thing is too crazy Almost forgot about this little guy Tony said he wants all of the roses pruned back so were going to prune everything back Alright so now that all of those Agapanthus are finally cleared and the roses on that side are all pruned back and the grass is gone We can prune this guy So this is a Chinese Hibiscus The flowers on these are really pretty There’s actually a flower on here at the moment
so I’ll just show you So they are pretty flowers
There’s only one on here But were definately going to keep this one Alright well now that this side of the garden is clear While I’ve still got my ladder here with me
I am just going to go out the front There’s a tree that is overhanging onto the walkway It’s a bit of a danger hazard
You would hit your head if you were walking past it So were going to go and clear that now Alright so there’s no more danger anymore That’s cut back you can’t hit your head on it Potential code enforcement fine?
Not anymore So this is the stuff that grows like a pest everywhere It’s actually called Oxalis They are pretty annoying they grow really easily but they also come out quite easily out of mulch So it’s not too bad So this plant here that we’re trying to save from all the weeds it’s actually an Australian native This is called a Grevillea They’re used as a ground cover sometimes So we need to get rid of all the weeds from this Alright so I’ve still left some leaves in amongst all of the flowers
that are on the garden bed It’s still a good mulch I just wanted to get rid of the majority
of the leaves because there was just a thick layer so We just took the top layer off Alright so this is called a White Diosma These are great hedges and they are pretty easy to prune but this thing is just getting a bit out of hand So we’re going to bring it back and give it some shape So there’s quite a lot of irrigation in this area Which looks like it’s still working and I don’t want to puncture any of it so I’m just going
to hand weed the rest of it You might think that these look like Daffodils but they are not They’re just another type of grass which is invading
the garden beds So this type of stuff needs to go So as you can see next to me here
This is what was being covered by all the grass These are more Daffodils that are growing This is what they look like when they’re shooting up So now they have a bit of room to breathe So let me just show you this This is probably one of the biggest Grasshoppers that i’ve ever seen Have a look at this So I was wondering why I hadn’t seen my Willy Wagtail friend Which pretty much in every episode recently has showed up I can hear a Willy Wagtail behind me They make a very distinct noise So let’s go see if we can find them Ahh found you there you are On the hunt for some grubs So I hope you enjoyed the video and all of the before and afters from this one If you want to see another crazy yard transformation The one I did last week was pretty insane You can just see that one right here if you click this video Have an amazing rest of your weekend and a great week and I will speak to you later see you

    Aiden you are now my favorite lawn care guy! You do it right, all the painstaking/tedious job of weeding, by getting the roots out. Taking great care/preservation of the plants. Unlike others (one in particular in your most southern state LOL) who just weed whack everything and it all will grow back in a month or two. I've watched enough of your videos to say you must make a lot of trips to the tip, gosh I hope you're able to perhaps get a trailer to haul more at once. BTW I'm from the US but adore Australia, wish I moved there when i was younger, would have been around Adelaide area. All the best to you and your channel.

    Greetings from Louisiana! Every time you tackle the weeds, I feel for you, because I refuse to use an herbicide. I weed by hand and gosh! It's a chore! It is really admirable that, though you are doing this for free, you are just as thorough as if you were paid. Oh, your little friend Mr. Magpie came to visit. Ha! Ms. Magpie!!!

    Do you get contracts when you clean for free. Because you doing the best job. The way I look at it, I will hire you to do my lawn. Your videos is still the best I have ever seen. Please do me a favor, wear safety glasses. A stick can go in to your eyes. Stay safe. Did you know that you can take the leaves, grass and make compost out of that. Do research.
