Neglected work plant… Was a gift to the office (from before my tenure) but no one seems to look after it except the building manager on occasion. I've recently been given free reign to care for it.

The soil stinks and looks awful and I really want to cut the green pieces free and start it over by propogating them. Can it be propagated from the green nodes? The nodes are thicker than I am used to. I am assuming this is a type of pothos…

Any advice appreciated!

it absolutely can be prop’d. Just cut below the node in each one and put in a box of wet sphagnum moss in a container with holes-bright indirect light. Or stick just the ends near the node in water for a bit. The root rot does look to extensive to try and sav the entirety of the plant. It does look like a neon pothos minus the variegation, so that is questionable.

I believe you can do it! Also, you are correct. Chop the green pieces off free and start over. You can leave 2-3 nodes (each line where tiny nubbins come out) together and cut.

You can let them root in water or damp moss* or perlite.

*put damp moss in a ziploc bag or a container with a dome/ lid like those transparent take out plastic containers.

Put in a bright room and wait til you get roots!

    Good luck
