Am I wasting my time by pulling crabgrass?

I am getting ready for a fresh start this fall with aeration, topsoil, seed, fertilizer, starter and lime.

Am I wasting my energy by pulling a crapton of crabgrass for better soil-to-seed contact? I've removed a good 3/4 of it by hand since chemicals barely dented it.
