One of my favorite “tossables”. Find a patch, collect the seed heads when ready and throw them in a patch of designated meadow/prairie planting and voila ..instant magnificent fall color! They’re one of those that in my experience “look like a weed” and get pulled by unsuspecting gardeners… especially because they tend to bloom so late, atleast in my area. But leave them be, and they tend to bloom in sync eith each other for an incredible flush of yellow ❤️
They’re also a great choice for low effort soil rehabbing, or for hard clay or compact soil areas, they can have a massive taproot that grows right through 3,4,5ft+ deep!
unventer
Jealous. I’m overrun with Bidens bipinnata, which has significantly less showy flowers.
Also found some on a field near my house. More of them too, they rly come out of nowhere, I thought they’d look like frondosa with the little orange craps, but this bloom is way bigger
