Just installed patio and after a few days a good amount of the new pavers are deteriorating. I bought new Holland pavers to blend with the 20 year old ones I was re-using since I was making the patio larger. First rain since installation and many of the new ones look like they aged 10 years in a few days. Bought these at Menards.

For now I would keep an eye on it to see if it gets worse as it might just be surface finish defect, but if it cracks or keeps getting deeper then it was a bad batch.
A few days? You got a bad batch.
Yep, thats modern materials for you. Be careful with salt, it will destroy it even more
I think your best bet is to tell everyone they are intentionally aged. To be more authentic.
I’m so sorry
Can you seal them? We pressure washed old ones and it looked horrible till we sealed them
Where did you buy / what brand
Are you sure the grout isn’t expanding up out of the gaps?
I would start with Menards and try to get them to not only refund but pay for additional materials or labor to replace. More sand, etc. Also go for the real manufacturer too.
Its like a beautiful patina.
I just want to say I like the photos showing the progression of the decay. Solid detective work right here.
I call BS. Something else is going on. Never seen anything like that in my 30 years in the industry.
