Did my Multifida just randomly sprout a Capensis?!
I've had this enployee of the month posted up in the window in the office for about 3 years now. Each time it sprouts a tiny base set of arms its always two shaped like a U but this time theres a group of what looks like Capensis?
Capensis seeds get everywhere. If you or whoever sold/gave you the multifida has even one capensis I would not be surprised that one of its spawn is here
Bloorajah
Yup, thatâs a capensis!
Despite their tiny size, drosera seeds can lie dormant in the soil for years and years before sprouting. I wouldnât be surprised if you wind up with more of them eventually since thereâs more than likely not just the one seed.
It could also have been a root fragment, since drosera roots follow a similar vein. Iâve had reused soil sprout drosera years later due to leftover roots I didnât bother removing. it seems to happen every time I repot my sundews too, if the roots get disturbed on those robust subtropicals they take it personally and sprout tons of new growth points to spite the damage.
If you have capensis at home that has flowered then it couldâve come from there too. Iâve had sundews translocate by seeds sticking to the grooves of my fingerprints. they really do get *everywhere*
