Definitely a thistle. Not good to have around. Pull it out as best as you can. They have a big taproot so they’re hard to pull, and they can regrow if part of the taproot breaks off.

Looks to be Cirsium horridulum, or bristle thistle, a North American annual flower found east of the Rockies and across North America.
Grows fast, pretty stubborn. A lot of people consider them pest plants.

Form of thistle. Most people hate them but I have a few in my field that I let grow and flower. They are pretty but not flowers to touch! lol
Calling this “a thistle” is like calling a red tailed hawk “a hawk.” It is correct but entirely unhelpful.
This is a musk thistle. It is native to parts of Europe, Asia, and North Africa, but it is invasive in many other parts of the world, especially North America. North America has plenty of native thistles, but this is not among them.

Looks like it would go good on a salad?
