Got this about a month ago, promptly repotted with about 70% pumice 30% citrus potting coil, fertilized once with "cactus juice" and haven't touched it since. It's been outdoors in San diego. Just noticed today it had some brown spots and I found 2 mealybugs that I've already killed and am treating the area with ladybugs/lacewings. I'm not exactly sure what the brown spots are, I think it's rot. Let me know what I should do. Thanks in advance.

  1. Are the browning tips squishy? I haven’t had any problems with my groenwaldii yet, so I’m sorry I can’t be of more help. I grow mine in full full (greenhouse) sun in about 50/50 coarse pumice/Kellogg garden soil, so half organic but very chunky and free draining, and I water with half strength cactus juice and a dash of fish emulsion every weekend this time of year.

My old guy is doing really well and is growing fairly compact, and the new green guy I just picked up a few months ago is adapting to the new treatment very nicely. This is in a greenhouse that’s averaged about 85° this summer, hitting 110°F during the day and dipping down into the 60s at night.
