We recently lost my husbands grandpa and this was his only plant. It sat in the corner off the porch It comes back every year but this year it looks horrible. To my knowledge no one has ever messed with it at all. But I want to save it and make it actually grow in the pot and not just on the sides. Help?!

I would cut off some of the succulents closer to the ground below the node, let the cut part scab over, and then put them in the soil.

I would also recommend succulent fertilizer! You could also buy some new succulent soil and add it to the top, it might not be growing as well inside because light doesn’t reach it as well.

What level of light is it in and how often is it watered ?

This is normally how this type of succulent looks- it grows very leggy and puts out tons of pups and then kills off all of its old leaves. It looks fine. 🙂 it’s a hen and chicks succulent i believe.
