in the middle of summer. Can you believe August 1st? It has been so far a very different growing season. Oh my goodness, the birds are growing. Hundreds of them. But some of things are doing fantastic. Tomatoes are great. Peppers are coming up, but there’s some things that are just not doing that good. The turmeric is growing, but I think it should be bigger. And what is causing that? Well, the opposite of what half the United States is having. We’re cool. And Gary, he’s just keeps trucking along growing all those baby dragon fruit plants. But at least he brought up, I don’t know, 40, 50 pounds of bananas. But the tomatoes, I’ve been freezing tons. But why is all this going on? Well, that’s all part of nature. And boy, has nature been different this year. Hi, this is Robbie from Southern California. And yes, we are feeding so many hummingbirds and more orals than we’ve ever had before. talk about differences each year. But let’s jump into the bird garden because that’s where we’re going to start the full garden tour for August 1st. Now, this is one of my favorite gardens. Why? Because I try to start the morning off coming in here, having a cup of coffee, and enjoying the birds. These are all spice finches. Remember, we started with like a pair, and now it’s not a joke. We have hundreds of them. They’re separate blocks that come in every morning, afternoon, and before the sun goes down looking for seed. Gary just informed me he’s got to go pick up another 100 pound sack of parakeet mix. But they come in here in the morning and we so enjoy watching them in the garden feeding and bringing all their babies and friends and family. The thing is, you may look at this and say it’s just a bird garden, but uh-uh. I grow a lot of food there and this is a big joy of Zoe’s as well. You know that we grow a well this is broccoli but we grow a lot of dragon fruit that’s in the back there. I grow tons of brassica all through here and my mint and different herbs. So there’s a lot going on in the bird garden. I just call it a bird garden because this is where I emphasize for the birds to come. Hopefully the insect eaters go out among the other gardens to feed. Look at this. This is a propagating blanket flower. It comes off of a plant that a bird came into my yard. I’ll show you in a minute. Pooped and it grew two years ago and it immediately grew into a big bush and started throwing flowers. Look, I’ve got peppers and this is chocolate mint there. And then I’ve got all kinds of stuff. There’s red bane sorro. That’s my hummingbird’s lunch. That’s a propagated plant. I try to propagate as much as possible. And I’m growing a lot of our flowers from seed now as well, especially the zenas and maragolds. Look at that. That is the plant that showed up, the blanket flower above it. And there’s the statue I picked up at Goodwill. I love it. I still want to change up the garden. I’m trying to expand it more to the left for the birds. But remember, a garden is constantly changing. It’s an evolution as a true garden is never finished because it’s always evolving. I want you also to know that, see a lot of the plants in the center there, they’re all in pots. Keep that in mind. So, even if you’ve got a cement area, you can grow in pots. This is my lettuce. I just started some more. So, hopefully I’ll have some lettuce pretty soon. And that’s also where I propagate a lot of plants. Yes, pots. Those huge plants that are over four or five foot tall here, the hummingbirds lunch, the emu bush, the salvia in there, they’re all in pots and I’ve got birds everywhere waiting for seeds. And then the fig trees, they’ve got figs on it, too. So, that’s going to be a lot of fun. They’ll probably get most of them. And those are more spice benches waiting for me to put more food out. Oh my goodness. I don’t know. Then more flowers that I’ve started down here. All different types. I don’t even know offhand what they are. Some I bought, some I propagated and started. I know I have a lot of geraniums. That’s a geranium that I propagated there. Aren’t these beautiful? I’m trying to get a lot more flowers, but there’s going to be a lot of food among the flowers for me. I mean, that’s a brassica there, and I use it all the time next to this kufia, the bat face, and then again, the zenyas and maragolds, all from seed. By growing that way, you’re saving tons of money. So, whatever seeds make it, make it whatever don’t, don’t because you can get the seeds extremely cheap. And then propagating. And then my walking onions, which is like propagating. They just keep going and going. Again, you start with one plant and the rest are all free. As you wander through my bird garden, you’re going to see all the hummingbirds lunch. See all those back there beyond the zenas growing there? This is beautiful. This one just opened. It’s purple. Look, almost a purple, magenta purple. All those are free plants. I just continue to propagate. And then of course, even the tree colorards in the back. All free. All started with a couple of them and now we have as many tree colors as we want to grow. That’s kind of the way I think to grow if you’re trying to save money. And that’s one thing we are trying to save. Even the Mexican sage, that long purple flower here to the right, Gary got that for free. He saw a landscaper working and he stopped and asked him what it was. He goes, “You want some?” He gave it to him and now we have it all over. Got it all over my garden. You’re going to see it as we walk around because it’s even in my butterfly garden. All started with one cutting he brought home. And that was what last year. Then I’ve got my lemon verbina in the back. Look at all the plants we’ve got. And then the four o’clocks, they came up on their own. So I’m trying to keep them under control. They’re to the left. The hummingbirds do like it. They open up what in the afternoon, but they can get out of hand. Look at all the brassacas I’ve got here. This is a tree color. Now, I don’t really want it there, but as I get through the garden, little by little, I’m going to change things up. I just want you to see what is going on because there is a lot of food. It’s not just for the birds. I am getting tons of tomatoes out of this trough. Two plants in there, a sunold and a cherry tomato. And I am freezing bags of tomatoes. I’m going to have all I want all winter and into spring until they start growing next year. You know, I just picked these and I already have another bag in there ready to pick, wash, and freeze. And then this is where my papaya is. We’ll come back to that in a minute. See how I take my pots and I drop them in the ground. You can drop them in the ground one in to halfway down. I have found it’s very beneficial for a lot of different plants. There’s my papaya. I don’t know if it’s going to make it. Earlier in the year, I told you I think they’re on their way out and now the one to the right just bursted into all new growth. I did change some things up there. I’m feeding more compost tea as well as I cleared out some of the geranium. So, I don’t know what’s making it grow again. It could be the weather. We’re starting to warm up. This is all mint. More propagating plants. That’s my little moringa I’ve been growing for years there. And on the bottom next to it to the left is more chocolate mint. Look at the bees. And I use those leaves when I make a green drink. This is just fantastic. Oh, I just bought this hose. I’ve had it now for about two weeks. I love it and I want to get more. It’s a rubber hose. It’s drinking water safe and I just like it. It doesn’t kink. We can get more into the hose if you want, but I’m waiting for it to go back on sale. I bought it on sale and now the price went up. Look at the garden. Is that not beautiful? I’m amazed at myself what I could do with a place that was so barren and hard clay that nothing would grow that I could turn it into a small nature’s paradise. And keep one thing in mind. This was Gary’s wish cuz he loves those spice finches. Now I’m wondering if you wish too hard. What’s the old saying? Be careful what you wish for. Oh, speaking of Gary, let’s go ahead and step in his greenhouse room that he set up. Yeah, one of the extra bedrooms. And what is in there? Most of it, 99% of it is baby dragon fruit. Don’t ask me what type. They’re all over. They’re everywhere. I do have some culantro on the top and I’ve got to get it out. But look at all the different methods and way he’s growing it. I think he’s overwhelmed and he’s not sure where to put them. He has offered some people, but they don’t want to do dragon fruit. Look at this. But right now, that’s what’s in here. They’re coming out of his pencil box. Oh my goodness. But that is what is going on in the greenhouse room. And then later on in the spring, he starts a lot of seedlings and different things for his garden. And sometimes I might put something in there for mine. But that’s what’s going on in there because I know a lot of you want to peek in there. Oh, and under the gazebo here, that is where I propagate a lot of plants. I use plain old flower pots, food containers, cups, whatever I’ve got, and then once they get roots, I can move them in the garden. So it works out really good. It’s a nice place to put them because they get some sun and then of course they get some shade and all those those are citrus trees. All different types. Look how beautiful they look. I try to keep them watered when I water my garden, but not a whole lot. Just a little bit. Okay, I think we see it enough of the bird garden. Let’s go look in the rainbow garden what’s going on. Still using my metal hose. I like it. It doesn’t kink, but you don’t get a whole lot of water out of it. So that’s why I got the other hose, the green one that doesn’t kink, the rubber one. It’s nice to use as well. Gary hasn’t started his dog kennel yet. That’s the potato mint. Oh, I love that top. That is half inch irrigation tubing. You know how I love it? You can make hoods with that, too. I haven’t gotten to this tote yet. These are old pepper plants from last year, and they look like they’re making a comeback. Some of them even have some peppers on it already. I just haven’t done anything in this tote. So, if something, you know, comes about and I want to plant something later, I can move them out or compost them. But we’ll see. And that’s another cutting from a hummingbird’s lunch there. And over here, as you can see, I still have just basically what was there. Now, the tomatoes have been great to the left. I’m still harvesting those and freezing those, but a lot of these will have to come out. It’s milkeed. That’s a geranium on the bottom. And this, I really want to get it out, but it’s purple tree colored. So, I’ve been doing cutings off of this plant. Eventually, it will go. See that part? That’s really nice. Yeah, some bugs are getting it, but that’s okay. And then I’m making these stands now that I’ve been doing quite a few of, and I want to make a ton of them because it’s cheap or free to make, and it works really good for planting. That is the rainbow garden. It’s right now all for the butterflies, but I do want to change it up, and that is where I am moving forward to. I want the milkweed out in containers or in the butterfly garden. Now, this is the pizza garden, but I’m kind of changing it up. There’s another stand I made. I use one of those ice buckets from Dollar Tree. This comes off so I can move this mint. But this is going to be a lot of different herbs is what I’m aiming for right now. So, I’ll even get more herbs in there. Maybe spread what’s in there already because I’ve got basil and rosemary and sage and oregano. So, everything is in there. And this is just garlic chives that are starting to flower. It was just sitting somewhere the pot. So I set it there and milkweed on the bottom. Eventually that will go out and go into a pot. I have a method of moving it which is yank them out, put them in a flower pot and then sit the flower pot in water after I plant it for a few days. It pops right up and it keeps on going. After all, it’s milk weed. It’s a weed. So it wants to grow really bad. So that’s what’s going on here. But look, this one I did plant. Remember the tomato plant? It is doing fantastic. It’s just a cherry tomato I bought, but I’ve taken cutings off of that one as well. Now, going to this. This is one I propagated. It’s a kind of a purple curly leaf kale. Uh it might be a Russian red. It’s doing really good. I’m going to make a lot of those stands. They come in so handy. And this straight ahead to the right, I’ve got potato mint here. And there’s some pceline. I haven’t finished here, but all these buckets are potatoes. They may have milkeed and other stuff growing, but it’s potatoes. And I’m not sure on the first zucchini. That one might be done. But look at all the flowers. I’ve got zenas growing in with my zucchini and other plants here to the left. Isn’t that cool? Here’s a zucchini. And then I’ve got Malibar spinach in there as well, which I also use for my green drinks. Isn’t that beautiful? So, everything’s doing really good. I think there’s some pceline in there, too. I’m really excited with the buckets of potatoes to the right and then more flowers in here. I’m not sure if these plants are going to make a good comeback or not. I’ve gotten so much fruit off of them. Again, they’re zucchinis. And then the same thing here along with some flowers. One of them just started again. Look at that. Isn’t that a beautiful zenia? Absolutely gorgeous. Oh, look at that. What is on there? A little tiny grasshopper. Oh, that’s nature for you. But you know what? I’m leaving it. It’s not doing any harm yet. Probably later I’ll regret it. But that’s fine. And then this one, I think. Yep. And they’re on the bottom. It’s starting again. And I should get them off small. They’re really nice fried up with a little butter on a frying pan. Just a little butter, salt, and pepper. And they’re so good. Just slice them up really good. Again, all potatoes. I’m hoping to get more potatoes later on in the year growing because there’s nothing nicer than taking a five gallallon bucket, tipping it over, and taking all the potatoes out for dinner. And they’re so good when they’re fresh. Now, this is the dog kennel as it comes. And I got these racks at Walmart, and this has been really good. I am concentrating more on the bigger ones. So, in here, I’ve got some lettuce growing in there. I’ve got some propagating plants in there. There’s here’s lettuce. See, what I do is I take the seeds off. See, underneath I just sprinkle them in there and then the baby lettuce grows and then I separate them and move them around. I just haven’t done it enough. And I need to get like a hundred little lettuce growing in here and then I’ll have all the lettuce I want. I’ve got some geraniums and I’ve got turmeric on the bottom. And I see a milkweed that just started to flower. I’m going to have to get that out. I’ll put that in the butterfly garden today. But this should be full. This is my bad. It really should be full of plants. So, I’m going to concentrate on getting that done, too. See over there, the dog kennel? We should go take a walk in there. This is just really nice. I love the way the setup is on the chairs with the 18gallon totes. It works out so well. Now, this is the two dog kennels put together. So, they ended up making this one dog kennel 20 ft long. Now, I’ve got tomatoes on the bottom. And when that plant fizzles out, I’ve got an eggplant growing in there as well. But let me tell you something. We’ve been picking a lot of tomatoes off of that. That’s an eggplant. Then on the top here, I’ve got some more squash. I believe this is yellow squash. Oh, a double twins. They’re stuck together. How cool. Isn’t that something? And then I use milk cartons sometimes for the lettuce. Yes, powdery mildew because our mornings are cloudy, damp, and cool, and our nights are sometimes still in the 50s. Though, I am getting lettuce. See the lettuce growing in the grape container. I left the wrapper on so it will block some of the sun. Sometimes I take it off. That’s a cucumber on the bottom. It’s in a pot, but the pot again is sunk in the ground. And this beautiful celery. I’ve been using that as well. Been pushing peas around. Wrong time of the year for peas, but they’re growing because we’re in the 50s sometimes at night and then during the day we’ve been in the 70s and 80s, but damp personally. Now, I’m not complaining on the weather. I want to explain that in a minute. This is eggplant that’s been sitting there for too long, but I can stick it somewhere at some point. Eggplant and peppers you can leave in small pots and you can plant them out as needed. Other plants don’t do well when you do that. Watermelon, cucumbers, more squash. You can see what I’ve done down here. I planted, if I knew the weather and I could predict it, I planted wrong. Look at this. A volunteer. I can’t tell you what it is. Just some sort of cherry tomato came in the ground up on its own. Look at all the peppers from Walmart. Remember that video I did? This plant is packed. Had I had a crystal ball and known it was going to be this cool, I wouldn’t have planted as many vining summer heat loving plants. Yep. Got a yellow squash on this one. The tomatoes and even the squash, they’re forgiving a little bit. Cucumbers and watermelon really loves the hot weather. Now, I’m not doing too badly. I’ve got a watermelon here. These are all sugar babies. That’s not a bad size. It’s gotten really big really fast. Then I’ve got a smaller one that took off there. There’s other small ones here. And look at that one. Almost ready to eat. Now, we did eat a watermelon already. The rest is all cucumbers here. Uh it’s embarrassing because it was so small. But what I did was I had to move the plant and the plant was suffering. That’s the cucumbers. And I removed it, but I did not cut it open for over two weeks. And it sweetened up. Look at this. A po. It was in the soil. I didn’t plant it there. Is that not cool? So, I went ahead and put it aside for two two and a half weeks. And when I cut it open, it was so good. It was sweet like sugar. And there is the skins. Now, what did I do? Oh, look, a roly poly. I don’t want all the roly pulleys in there, so I can knock them off. I got to get them out. They’re not real good on climbing on plastic, though. They can. But, he’ll go somewhere else. Let’s see. Oh, a whole bunch of them. Look, you can catch them using the skin of an orange, any of citrus, watermelon. It works really good. Okay, now they’re going to have to find another home and I get them out of there. Really good trap. They love the fruit on the inside when it’s been taken out and and they’ll just gravitate towards it and you just move them out. Sometimes you can use toilet paper rolls and different things for that. That’s what’s going on in the dog kennel. So, it would have just been bursting with all those vines, but because of the cool weather until it changes, they’re going to grow a little bit on the slower side. We’re about 700 750 ft above sea level. So, on top of the cool weather, we’re cooler than a lot of other places that are lower down. So, there’s the dog kennel. I absolutely love it. So, I think next year or next time I’m growing, I’m going to make sure I mix it up. So, I have some plants that don’t mind the cool weather and some plants that love the hot weather. So, we could go both ways. So, this way I have a lot of plants, but I still have a lot. We have a lot of food. I’m freezing a ton of it and we’re eating a lot of it. Now, this is the last table I planted of turmeric. Something was eating that. I put that basket on the other day and now they’re growing up. So, it might be squirrels or ravens or something picking at it. And that was the second latest and they’re doing really good. That’s ginger. And then I’ve got the rest of his turmeric. Notice ginger is skinny. It should still be bigger, but this table’s doing really good. Again, it was the first one planted. But still, when the weather warms up, and I’m sure it will in August now, then they’ll get bigger. And that’s what’s going on here. for my nectarines. I just picked them all. In fact, I’m very proud of myself because there was a ton of them and I picked them, washed them, split them, took the pits out because it’s a freeze stone, it falls away and I froze them. So, I’m going to have nectarines that are sweet like sugar. Well, I guess well into the winter. Oh, this is prizewinning. You know what? Yep, that’s manure. You’ll have another word for it. Prize winning grand champion. I know the person that won the grand championship this year and uh they saved us the llama manure. So Gary ran to pick it up and he’s very excited with it. He’s going to drag it down to his garden later on. He’s letting it sit there. This is my pride and joy favorite easiest garden to take care of my chair garden. Couple free chairs that I got, you know, painted up that I only painted once so many years ago. And then some gray 18galon sterilite totes. And every year I get an abundance of food out of this all year. Look at the squash. Remember, if you’re looking for cheap trellising, the irrigation tubing is the cheapest thing you’ll ever get. And you can cut it with a scissors. Look at that. Isn’t that gorgeous? Look at all the squash in there. You can cut it and use the size that you need for your container or even in the ground. I just stuck that in there. I don’t know if that one’s going to make it. It was sitting too long. I’m going to pop, but we’ll see. There’s the one the squirrel ate up. Remember that? It was nothing. Three weeks ago, that plant was chewed up to nothing, and I’m going to have fruit on it in a matter of days. And then I’ve got red vein and green sorro next to it. More tomato plants, more celery, more tomato plants. I’ve been harvesting like mad. And then even here, I’ve got the pear tomatoes to the right. I love it. And then the water comes out of the totes. We always have to have drainage. And it’s watering the geraniums that I planted in the pots underneath. And then this is the truck bed. Doing okay. You know, I didn’t go overboard on this this year. I’ve got mainly geraniums in there and some celery. But look at this fig leaf gourd. Now, I’m not planting these. Fig leaf gourd is a very unusual squash. You plant it once and the roots will come back. It goes dormant in the winter every year until you pull it out. So, it’s kind of a forever squash if you want to grow something like that. It’s not my favorite squash, but I’m still growing it. This is what I’m waiting for. I want to harvest the pomegranates this year and freeze them so I have them to add into my green drink. We try to make sure we get a green drink in us every day. And I try to take some in the after early afternoon or morning and then again towards evening. It really does help with health. I know that basically for a fact. And then Gary, I never force him. It’s up to him. He loves it. He comes running in. He said it gives him energy. Well, it’s food. It’s food from the garden. Everything except the grape juice I add in. There it is. More pomegranate. And I’m going to have to tell you, it’s it’s energy building and it’s energy giving. So, it’s fantastic because there’s no pesticides or anything. It’s fresh from the garden. Even the moringa you just saw to the left, all that goes in there. Celery and oh boy, this thing just took off for the past few days. This is tomatillos. Now, I only have one plant out here, and I know they say you’re supposed to have two, but let me tell you something. I have had a single plant throw me hundreds of tomatillos. So, it might be the tomatillos I’m growing. They come up on their own, but whatever. I have never had to pull out a tomato plant because it didn’t produce because there was only one plant. So, it could be the variety. And then that was the celery, the walking onions, and the zucchini needs a good grooming. And I have been grooming, but I got to do better or start replacing some of these plants. Look at all the powdery mildew. But look at all the squash. I just picked a whole bunch the other day, too. Cannot do anything about the powdery mildew due to the dampness we have at night and the dampness in the morning. But I’m really pleased with everything growing here. Now, I was going to have watermelon on all these walls, but now knowing the way the weather is, I’m not going to worry about it. I’m just going to keep picking tomatoes and keep freezing them. So, I’ll have them when I need them. And then the pots on the bottom are walking onions and red vein sorrel. And I did figure out that a lot of these tomatoes because they’re not protected are being raided by the ravens. But that’s all right. I’ve got a lot. And if they bother these and not my other plants, that’s a good thing. So, we don’t want to kind of cut nature out or we could end up having a bigger problem. So, I tool what I need to tool. Now, this is my butterfly garden. Is that not beautiful? This is such a nice place to come out in the afternoon, have a glass of ice water or tea, and just watch all the butterflies. I mean, this is right now. Look at this. Yeah, I stuck a hummingbird feeder out there. I think it’s empty. I’m going to have to go bring it in, wash it, and fill it up. But look at the monarchs. And it’s not just monarchs. We’ve had swallow tails here and all kinds of other butterflies. But this is a favorite place of the monarchs. All kinds of things growing. even that avocado tree there. But we’ve got I told you the Mexican sage all from the one plant Gary brought home. I’ve got now multiple plants growing in here as you can see. I’ve got purple tree colored. I don’t even know. I’ve got maragolds in there. Zenyas growing in there. Chinese forget me knots. All kinds of walking onions in there. There are some herbs. There are there is some mint. And of course we’ve got a few different types of milkweed in there. And that brings a lot of the butterflies there. Then we do have lizards and different things that hang around. You know, I have not seen any lizards go after the butterflies. So, let’s keep our fingers crossed on that. And they’re all over the place. So, look at that. Do you see in the shade? Where is that? What is hiding in the shade? Another lizard. Oh, he’s going to pump. And yet, I’m so far away from him, but he’s going to show everybody he’s stronger than anybody else. This is just a surprise addition to the garden. I was going to do it real small, but I think I’m going to expand it. Now, this is also part of the driveway where it gets a lot of shade normally, especially at the end of the day. So, I’ve got some turmeric growing there. And I also propagate here. And sometimes I even grow lettuce. Oh, my turmeric in here is coming up. Those are in those dish pans. I love them. I get them from Walmart and plants grow fantastic in there. So, I’ve got a few different things. Looks like a caterpillar got that brassica, but that’s all right. Got some salvas growing there, too. I’ve got to get them planted. And then there are the cars. And look, I’ve got Samarano tomatoes growing there. And we keep picking them. Gary comes out in the morning and he picks them when he makes breakfast. And I think it’s getting to the point where I may have to freeze a couple of them. I still have to get the black tote to the right out. But look at this. Is that beautiful? This worked out really good. You tell me how many years do those cars sit there because I didn’t know what to do with them. They’re from Circuit City. I bought them cheap that time. Were they weren’t that cheap? I had ideas and they sat for years. How long has Circuit City been gone? And now I’m growing in them and it works. See what I do with the leaves? Brown leaves. Push it back in. That’s what nature does. Leaves turn brown. They fall on the ground and they go back into the soil and make compost, which I say it makes soil. Aren’t they beautiful? So, that’s the driveway and that’s it. Now, I still want to get this out, but my purple cabbage has decided to rehead after I cut the heads off last year. They’re starting to grow. I’m going to wait a little while longer and then I’ll harvest that and then I’ll do something else. I want this out. I want the whole driveway clear so you can park and just not have any plants right now. It’ll be easier to take care of. So, this will be going hopefully pretty soon. And then the front yard. I think it’s going to be simple. That’s what I’m going for this year and we’ll see next year. I’ve got brassacas in there. I’ve got walking onions. I’ve got tomatoes growing in there. I’ve got my finger lime growing. Um, so many different things are in here, including milkweed. I’ve extended a little bit of the butterfly garden by putting in a little bit of milkweed. And the butterflies do fly through here, which is really nice. And that’s basically it for the front yard. I’m basically here layering. As you can see, those black totes in the back there have been there for years. So, I thrown all the stuff from the yard in there, leaves and everything, and then I put pots in there. And now I’ve got all the plants to the left growing in the pots. I’ve got the geranium in the middle growing with a few other things growing around there. And then the table. I still have big plants. So I will get to that table soon because you can do a really good garden on that. That was found by the railroad tracks a long time ago. So that’s basically it. We’ve kind of looked all over. We’ll take a peek at the ginger and turmeric in a minute. But look at this. A dish pan and it’s growing tomatoes. And that plant has not been in there that long. So, we’ll be getting a lot of tomatoes on that. Got some beets left in there from last year. I’ve got to harvest those. All this needs to be redone. And that is a small carrot. I grow these carrots that are really small. I’m going to let it go to seed and finish. And then I’ll plant the seeds out. And in the back there, in the front here, I’ve got turmeric growing and some plants. But see in the back there is my turmeric and ginger table. So now I’m growing it here as well as in the back of the garden where you saw it earlier. But I want to grow a lot of turmeric because turmeric is really important and good to eat. I happen to like eating it just like you would a carrot. So it’s doing great there and I’m really pleased with it. They will fill out as soon as the weather gets warmer in the evening and they want the warm weather at night. And again there’s just the table. Look at all the walking onions there. And this was radishes and they’re throwing radish seeds. I don’t know if I really want them. The pceline is good. I add that to my green drink, but I don’t think I need the rest of that. So, that’s basically it. We went in a circle. And let me tell you one thing. Gary did those are weeds. Remember, pick out your weeds and drop them back. They’ll dry up and become soil. Gary did bring up the other day from his garden a surprise. A big huge bunch of bananas. Look at this. He brought it up at night. It’s dark. It’s hard to tell on the camera. That is massive. He said it’s one of the biggest ones he’s ever picked. How? It’s 50 lbs. Must be. You want to try? No, I don’t. No. He told me they’re Caven dish. And he’s never had such a big bundle. Let me tell you something. They are sweet as sugar and we’ve been eating them. I may have to freeze them, but boy, the way we’re eating them, I don’t know. Look at that. Unreal. I hope he gets more. So, that’s it. We’re in the front. You can see my bird garden from here. I hope you enjoyed this garden tour. And I’m gonna get back to work. Got hummingbirds to do. And that is basically it. So with that, have a wonderful day. Thanks for joining us. And don’t forget to eat what you grow. Bye-bye. I do have to get into Gary’s garden and do something down there, though. I heard he’s working on something, too. What a beautiful day. Oh, and as far as bird food in the bird garden, multiple times a day, Gary is out there as well as me filling those seed hoppers, filling those trays because of all the birds. Well, it keeps Zoe entertained. I guess it keeps Gary entertained. It keeps us all entertained. And of course, the birds love it, too.

  3. Wow, look at those bananas!! The smile on his face! He's so proud!
Will turmeric grow in the midwest?

  4. I had a lone tomatillo (volunteer from the year before) that produced really well, also. While, ironically, the ones I planted elsewhere (together) gained a hornworm problem [last year] and so I had a paltry harvest from THOSE. This year, i have a couple of them in two different areas.

  5. Hi Robbie! Love your little cars. I am so grateful to have found your channel years ago. And the dishpan idea! Omg! I have zucchini growing in mine and they are doing fantastic, same as last summer. However, it was so cold until the middle of June this year so got a late start and then been raining every other day, but been protecting with the tulle. Was 80s n 90s for a couple weeks but going down to 53° 2nite where I live here in Michigan ugh!

  6. What brand is your hose? I need a new one and I’ve bought three different kinds but they all tangle and split. One of them was a “ professional contractor’s hose” for $45.00 and it was the worst hose!!! Thank you for any information, Robbie.

  7. Robbie, what is the netting material you use? And why are you wrapping all of your plants with it? I’m new to gardening and need all the information I can get.😶Thank you very much for any information.

  8. What is covering your ground in your yards? Is it mulch? Gravel? Pea gravel? I have a large bare back yard (only one dying tree) and want to turn it into a garden. Thank you for your information.
