While checking the roots for rot, I also checked the leaves for pestsā¦and saw a tell-tale sign of spider mites: clear weblike structures all over.
Upon closer inspection, I found that there was an ACTUAL spider living on my plant š·ļø (my worst nightmare).
Anyway, random tidbit asideāwhat could the cause of the spots be?? I have him on a North-facing windowsill; is he getting too much light? There was some browning on the white variegation of some leaves, so I pruned them off. Maybe a watering issue? I wait until the soil is dry before watering, but maybe Iām not letting it dry out quite enough. Any advice or suggestions are appreciated!! Thanksš±š

Either too close to the light, or plant got too dry and was under the light. The EFNs got toasted.
BTW, an actual spider is doing you a favor with catching bugs.
