I’ve always wanted one and the stars aligned yesterday. I’m a carpenter, one of my best friends is also my tattoo artist. He’s buying a tattoo shop, rebranding and making it his own. So I tagged along to do a bid for his flooring and a tile mosaic mural on the front desk. When I was there I complimented the front desk gal on the monstera. Since all their stuff is getting cleared out, she promptly offered it to me. FOR FREE!! Without hesitation it is now mine. Also got the little guy in the second photo. Is that a phil mayoi? I’m not an expert just a lover of plants

Nice! Wondering about that cactus in the background actually. I have the same one, but the leaves never got purple like that. Looks cool! Maybe it needs more sun like yours?

Agree, 2nd plant looks like a mayoi to me! A lil gangly, maybe wants some more light.

  4. Cool, great. I’m so happy for you. I’m totally not jealous

  5. I love my philo mayoi. This one could use a little support and a little pruning. Congrats! Those are such great steals!!!

Ok it’s totally beautiful, it’s a monstera deliciosa I can tell, but the second pic? What type of monstera is it? I really like it now I want one

Enjoy it but keep an close eye on it during the first days. I’ve had two large, beautiful plants for years, and recently I had to part with one because it didn’t survive a moving and change of location.

Received one at the birth of our second daughter forty years ago! We named it Cleopatra. It is planted in our yard, and it is huge!
