The Flower Garden | Lego Minecraft Town | Episode 2

Welcome back friends to the Lego Minecraft town project. Previously, this was called the Lego Minecraft Forever World, but the true goal of this project is to have a complete Minecraft town replicated out of Lego in the best way possible. And that’s why moving forward, the project is the Lego Minecraft Town. For those of you who are new, last week with episode one of the Lego Minecraft Town project, a ginormous sugarcane farm was made. Now, for the actual model for this farm, I have been playing Minecraft on my buddy’s Minecraft realm. His name is Whizcraft, and he has a YouTube channel where he makes let’s play videos for what he’s doing in the world. But for this Lego Minecraft town project, episode one was the sugarcane farm. And this episode, episode two, is the flower garden. This past Sunday, I live streamed on Whizcraft’s Minecraft realm. And on the Sunday live stream, myself and you, the viewers, we designed the flower garden. And without further ado, let’s get right into building. Just like the Lego sugarce farm, this project is going to utilize BrickLink Studio. And the very first step was establishing the bottom plates with a brick perimeter for the foundation of this flower garden. For the plates, the outer ones are 4x six’s in reddish brown with some 6x6s and 2x six’s. Then for the bricks, there are reddish brown bricks to make the dirt. And there are bricks that have round holes and cross holes. The 1x 2 bricks with the round holes are on the outside. And then on the inside behind each one of those are two 1x 2 dark bluish gray bricks with the cross hole. And that’s because we will be connecting the builds for this Lego Minecraft town with Technic axles that have a length of six one by bricks. Next, because the first block layer for this flower garden will have exposed blocks, we can’t have a Technic brick framework like we had with the sugarcane farm. So, instead, I used a bunch of plates in the middle and then filler bricks on the outside. From there, I then freehanded a bunch of plates onto the foundation because I knew that the top layer of plates were going to be fairly large, so I wanted a skeletonized layer of plates below the larger plates. That way, the build was lighter and more sturdy. Thus far, it is a very sturdy build, and I’m quite happy about that. From there, it was time to add a lot more plates. Most of them were 4x six’s in reddish brown and then 2x8s in reddish brown. Other filler plates were added, and that’s so this foundation gets built up to the first block layer. It was then time to add tiles because with this first block layer for the foundation, some of the blocks will be exposed and the exposed blocks are either sandstone or grass. And because we’re in a plains biome, we’re going with the normal green color for the grass. Then many bricks were added to make dirt along the perimeter and smooth deep slate in the middle. Notably, 2x two plates with two studs on the side were built in. And these parts are needed to attach the sandstone slabs. the flower garden has. With the next step in BrickLink Studio, many filler bricks were added alongside the perimeter, but then the sandstone slabs were also included in this step. And I just love how these sandstone slabs look. They are accurate to Minecraft being half a block tall. Then reddish brown plates were added to make the dirt alongside the outside of the foundation. And after the reddish brown plates, a bunch of dark bluish gray plates were added. And this layer of plates is going to get us to the tippy top where we will then add all of the tiles. And once we add the tiles, this foundation will officially be two Minecraft blocks tall. For these tiles, most of them are dark bluish gray, eight of them being jumper tiles for oak fence posts, but four of the blocks will actually be lapis lazuli. And including the lapis lazuli blocks was a design decision during the Minecraft stream, just like this whole design. So, if you want to see the next build, which is a villager house, tune in this Sunday at 9:00 a.m., and you can help contribute to how the villager house turns out. These other tiles and jumper tiles are in the normal green to make the sweet grass that this plains biome has. And where you see green jumper tiles, all of these places will be filled in with flowers. And I just love how these tiles are looking. That normal green is so pleasing. It’s probably my favorite Lego color. And since we’re in a plains biome, this Lego Minecraft town uses normal green for the grass. Oh yeah. During the Sunday live stream, a subscriber, Jazz Morgan, suggested that the center of the flower garden should have an altar. And then I thought, “Oh, an enchanting table. That’s pretty much like an altar.” And I didn’t have an enchanting table on hand, but I did have the ice spikes Lego set from 2017. And that’s why a review for that Lego set came out a couple days ago because we needed the enchanting table from that set to include in this flower garden. And look at that. The aura of this 2017 enchanting table is spectacular. So, because this is a flower garden, it’s time to add many, many flowers. First up are eight corn flowers. And to make these, each flower is two green studs with a blue flower petal on top. Next, it’s time to add 12 dandelions. And to make a dandelion, I used a bright green stud with a yellow flower petal. And it’s simple, but it works. Next up are eight orchids. And these flowers are amazing. They’re my favorite Minecraft flower. And to make these out of Lego, I use the green flower stem with six prongs and then the bright blue petals. Next up are the eight lilacs. And I really like the two-tone color scheme these flowers have. To make these, one/ird of the petals are dark and 2/3 are light. Feel free to let me know in the comments if you think that should be swapped around where the flowers are 2/3 dark, 1/3 light as is. I think they’re pretty good. But if the majority of you think it should be the other way around, we’ll change it. Next are 16 peies. And these flowers are awesome. To make these flowers, I use dark green flower stems because in Minecraft, the peie stems are a dark green. Finally, 16 rose bushes will be added to this flower garden. And to make the rose bushes, it’s the normal green flower stem with red petals. Out of all of the flowers, this one seems the most accurate to Minecraft in my opinion because it’s the normal green stem with red petals. It’s simple, it’s great, it’s elegant, and I’m all here for it. And hopefully you’re all here for it. This flower garden is now a true garden of flowers. I just love this color variety and I think all of these flowers came out quite nice. Next up, it’s time to add wooden posts. And we’re using oak wood posts. And that’s because oak wood is phenomenal. At the center of the garden, four wooden posts will be surrounding the enchanting table. Then eight more posts will be added on the outskirts of this flower garden foundation. And with these posts at the tippy top, they have this interesting 1×1 brick with a bar on the side. And that’s because the sides of these posts will be inserted into the sides of the sandstone roof. And to keep everything smooth, the sandstone roof I designed is going to simply lay on these wooden posts. There are 16 1x 2 bricks with clips on them. And these parts are to attach torches. And the four parts of the roof that protrude out. There are 1x 2 bricks with grooves. And these bricks will receive the bars on the eight wooden posts. All right, it’s now time to put on the roof. And wait till you see this magic. So, it just plops on in there. And by moving the outer fence post to the side, the roof can sit on the four posts in the center. And then by simply squishing in the outer posts, those bars on the post slide into the grooves on the roof bricks. And just like that, it’s actually sturdy. You know, if I shook it around like it was in a paint shaker, then the roof would fly off. But since this build is going to just sit on a table, we don’t have to worry about that, which is very good. Before we add characters to this flower garden, let’s appreciate some flowers in real life. So, what I’m showing now is a rose of Sharon flower. And after looking in it, there was this cute little green bug. Isn’t that phenomenal? And then the other week, I was filming these morning glories and I saw a bee enter one of the flowers and I got it on film. And then the bee did it again to another flower and I got that on film. And since this is a flower garden video, I just had to show y’all real flowers I filmed recently. So, now that the flower garden is built, I was going to include a wandering trader with his two llamas. But then I thought this flower garden should have a bunch of bees. So, I elected to have five bees populating this garden. And the five bees are the final characters for this flower garden. I hope you like the build. If you could rate it in the comments out of 10, that would be super helpful. Me personally, I would rate this flower garden a 7 out of 10, but I would love to know what you think. Let’s add the two builds for the Lego Minecraft town together by using six brick long Technic axles. And just like that, with three axles, the builds are now meshed together. The town is already looking great, even though there’s two builds so far. The sugarcane farm and the flower garden. Please like or dislike the video to provide me feedback. And as always, comment whatever is on your mind in the comment section. I really like reading what y’all comment. And who knows, I might even respond to your comment. All right. Well, thank you so much for watching episode two of the Lego Minecraft Town. If you’re new to the channel, feel free to subscribe and hit that notification bell so you don’t miss any of the videos for this Lego Minecraft Town project. I hope you enjoyed all of the flowers and how the sandstone roof is on the wooden posts. Or I guess I should say how the sandstone roof isn’t connected to the wooden posts, but it’s sitting on them. I just think that’s so cool. It’s fragile, but hey, it works. As long as I don’t shake this hard, it stays together. But yeah, look at that sandstone roof jiggle. All right, take care. Bye-bye.

Many flowers were involved in the making of this project!

  1. I think the lapis should be checker board pattern of the blue and dark blue 1×1 tile so it has a bit more texture

Also 6.8 out of ten, the roof looks a bit strange when transported to lego

  2. What else will you add to this project? Also, I wished I could’ve joined the stream, though I was busy at the time.

  3. I think it's a great module; 10/10. The overall town though… I'm not so sure. Negative space is very important. It might be a little early to think about it but I think the builds should have a little bit more breathing room, even just 8 blocks between them with a little path connecting everything would go a long way. I also hope the future builds have more varied terrain instead of very flat fields. (Although the house being on flat ground should be fine since the build itself will be interesting enough.)

  4. The bee faces are upside down, though it is interesting how it looks like a face either way lol

  5. Wow, I love how you handled all the different flowers (like the lilacs, orchids, roses, and more) and the sandstone!

Love the use of the Lego piece with the bar to simulate how the Minecraft fence post reacts, what an awesome floating-ish illusion!

Seeing the real life flowers was just an awesome touch.

Definitely my favorite build of the two so far!!

  6. 5:08 I agree! It's kinda sad the new enchanting tables have a prown piece for the book, the gold is so much more accurate. I love the shape of the garden, and how it looks in lego! Also I loved the real life flowers!

  7. It looks so good in lego. All of the colours go together so well and you did a reallt good job of ddsigning it. Edit: 10/10

  8. i definitely think the build is a solid 8/10, i love all of the different flower designs and they actually translate pretty well into lego. one addition that i think would be funny is if you added a player smelling some rose bushes, you know that one expression, "stop to smell the roses" haha.
also, another fun, but probably over-the-top suggestion for the villager house build you're designing, i dont know if you're making one from the game or making a custom one, but i think itd be pretty interesting if you designed/built one from the 1.14+ villages and the pre-1.14 villages. i know its a little crazy but its just a thought haha.
and one last thing, you say you use the 1×6 technic axles to connect your builds. would you recommend i use those instead of those black friction pins, if you know what im talking about? i have a few hundred of those pins so ive been using those a lot, but the axles might sound better. anyway, cant wait for the village house!

  9. i love the color scheme of the lilacs, they look a ton like the real thing! 😀 the bees are also super cute… and i agree that blue orchids are the best minecraft flower of course :3 i give this build an 8/10! it's simple but effective!
