You in TX? My buddy who lived there forever called them ‘sticker burrs’. I’m from the N.E. and had never seen them till I lived there.

I hate those things. Usually barefoot a lot outside & if I happen to step on one. Jesus, Mary, & Joseph they hurt! Vile things!!

Growing up lived in an area where every yard was full of these. Could not walk barefoot anywhere.

Avoid walking in your grass until you’ve made sure you don’t have more of those on you. I also suggest getting familiar with the plant because it’s best to remove them before the seeds turn yellow because they won’t fall off the plant as easily when they are still green
