Have you tried rotating the plant? It seems that ledge is a little small for that pot and if you’re not rotating, this will happen. Also, I would go through the plant very carefully and look to see if there are any suckers. If there are, groom them out and pot them up if you can. IDK if decapitating this AV will help it. You would still have the problem of those leaves reaching for the sun. I’m not as knowledgeable or experienced as many are in this group, and I’m unsure if decapitating will help. If it was me, I’d groom out any suckers, remove the bottom leaves, and rotate the plant. I hope this helps. If you do need to decapitate it, there are videos on YouTube to instruct you. I wish you all the best.

I zoomed in on your picture and I can see the long neck of your plant. Can you take any more pictures of your plant? A couple of different views will help.

I’m no expert, but don’t be afraid to decapitate it even though it sounds terrifying. I had to do three of mine and they’re all doing amazing now. Watch several videos until you feel comfortable doing it. Good luck!

Its part of growing and maintaining AV. Sooner or later it will decapitate itself. Once mine got top heavy and just fall off 🙈. That time I have zero knowledge about growing AV.

I think it’s leaning towards the sun?? !! Try turning the pot for a day to test. Don’t give up!! You can do this🌸.

Your violet is pretty. My violet does something similar. I tried decapitation to get the leaves to grow “normally.” She ended up doing the same thing, long stem leaves growing straight up. This is a view from the top. The leaves are packed together so the buds have a hard time breaking through.
I think you do have to decapitate it. That’s a super long and curved neck. I would watch the videos on how to do it. When you’re ready, go for it. Is there any other spot you can put it in. It’s really big for that spot. You can also buy a grow light for it. I do wish you much success with the task ahead. Definitely groom it as well. Those little leaves at the bottom can be pulled and remove suckers if any.
