We’ve had it for a few years. A few months ago some of the leaves started looking bad. Within the past few weeks I’ve moved it to a brighter southwest facing window (with blinds). I check to see how dry it is before watering (and up watering every 4-6 days). The growth at the top appears to be black – should I cut it? Thank you!

    I’m not an expert but it looks fine to me! The black part isn’t growth at least from what I can see from the picture. That’s where the new leaves come out of.
    Anyone correct me if I’m wrong!

    I think you’re on point. New growth looks like that. Just to add though, it maybe time to repot with some more soil.

    This tropical plant needs sunlight so much..it’s better to undraw the blinds during daytime..

    ..and did you water it thoroughly each time?
