I could tell it was perlite based on the feel and sound but couldn’t rip the bag open in the store.

I also needed perlite not sphagnum so it worked out perfectly, AND it was on sale for $4/bag.

Yikes! Be forewarned if you do use it, they add fertilizer to their perlite. (Cannot stand that brand personally)

Wow, that’s the weirdest thing. Yeah, you most definitely need to contact their customer support. Awkward…. or return it to the store?

Have you ever worked in a factory? It’s no surprise to me.

  6. Probably for the best the moss and soil are known to have fungus gnat eggs

I bought a bag of perlite that was funky. It had what looked like sand in it.

I’ve been battling my first of fungus gnats and could NOT isolate the plant of origin for a couple weeks, and then I looked over at a bag of potting soil and it was… that’s right, in desperation one day i bought Miracle Gro. Bagged that sucker up, into the garbage… no more fungus gnats. Grrrr. I will forever be calling it Miracle Don’t.

4 tablespoons of mosquito bits… in 2 liters of boiling water, in a mesh bag, like a tra bag. Steep for 15-30 minutes. Then put into a gallon jug, and dilute/fill jug with filtered/distilled water.
