Hi, need some advice for my two cherry blossom trees (plum) out the front. We moved into the house two years ago and the first year the trees bloomed beautifully. Full flower. Last summer the trees had very little foliage and just now it seems they’re really struggling to produce blossoms. Lots of mould on the trees too but I was told that’s not an issue. Is it root rot? I pruned them back a bit in winter, maybe a little too much?
TIA

The blossoms form on last year’s growth so if you did a lot of pruning you won’t get many flowers til next year. It should regrow just fine. Plums also tend to drop leaves and thin out in hot summers
